Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Emile Henry Le Potier 9-inchSquare Baking Dish, GreenCustomer Review: Versatile kitchen basic........ Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful piece to either start or expand your kitchen bakeware collection. As mentioned before it bakes evenly and the best thing is that baking in pottery helps keep the moisture in food. Baked goods are wonderful and I use it for simple things like baking chicken with sauce, etc. If I leave something in the oven too long it does not seem to burn as in metal cookware. Emile Henry cleans like a dream with no special care, is lighter in weight and performs as well as other quality stoneware. Aesthetically it's pleasing to the eye and can be used on the table with pride. You will use this often whether you cook from scratch or use convenience foods. I recommend purchasing this, a 9 x13 size and a large oval to cover most all your oven cooking needs. A loaf pan would also make a good addition to your collection.
Description of Emile Henry Le Potier 9-inchSquare Baking Dish, GreenIdeal for baking cakes and fruit desserts, this 9-inch square dish is a traditional French shape and has an attractive ridged exterior that makes it welcome in country kitchens. It can go directly from freezer to oven, into the microwave, under the broiler, and through the dishwasher without harming its glossy, lead-free glaze, which does not absorb odors or moisture and is so hard it will not crack, discolor, or scratch--even if food is cut on it. Beautiful enough to grace a dining table, it measures 1-3/4 inches deep and weighs 2-1/2 pounds. Since 1850, Emile Henry cookware and bakeware have been made in Burgundy, where a unique clay is kiln-fired into a ceramic unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. Prized worldwide, Emile Henry products come in a wide range of colors, from the bright hues (with white interiors) of the Couleurs line to the earth tones (with creamy interiors) of the rustic Le Potier line, of which this blue dish is a glowing example. Each piece is stamped with the year it was made and the initials of the craftsman responsible for its perfection and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
